Estonia will provide financial assistance to residents of the frontline regions of Ukraine.

The government of Estonia has introduced a three-month financial assistance program for residents of five Ukrainian regions that are close to the war zone. We are talking about residents of Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv and Kherson regions. About launching the program reported Estonian Refugee Council.
Within the framework of the initiative, monthly payments in the amount of 3,600 hryvnias for each family member are provided for three months. Assistance is provided once, re-applying is possible only after six months and only in the event of a change in circumstances.
“Multipurpose cash assistance is provided on the basis of an individual assessment of households, taking into account various socio-economic and vulnerability criteria. All vulnerabilities must be confirmed by relevant documents. The presence of a category is a necessary condition for participation in the program, but is not a guarantee of receiving cash assistance.
The pre-approval decision is based on the information provided by the main applicant representing the household in communication with the Estonian Refugee Council team. Cash assistance is transferred to the bank account specified by the main applicant, or by another method specified in the application (receipt of cash at bank or post office branches)”. – says the message.
Financial assistance is aimed at supporting the following categories of citizens:
- single mothers or fathers;
- pregnant women;
- families with three or more children;
- families with children under two years of age, persons with disabilities of group I or II;
- elderly people (over 60 years old) or those with serious illnesses;
- citizens who lost their homes or relatives as a result of the war.
You can apply both online – from May 1 through the official website of the Estonian Refugee Council, and offline – at designated reception points, information about which is provided by local authorities. Application processing takes up to three weeks. If approved, the main applicant will be given access to the next stage of information submission. After the final verification, the funds are transferred to the indicated bank account.
