Ukrposhta presented new stamps for Christmas
Before Christmas, Ukrposhta presented a festive postal set “A new joy that never happened”, which includes a block of 5 stamps, an envelope and a card. About this reported general director of Ukrposhta Ihor Smilyanskyi.
The new postal issue of Ukrposhta, inspired by one of the most famous Ukrainian carols, combines the traditional art of vytynanka with a modern look at Christmas. It can already be purchased at Ukrposhta branches and at the Postal Market.
These stamps are a vivid example of the preservation of Ukrainian cultural traditions. Thanks to the cutout created by the Honored Artist of Ukraine Natalia Aksyonenko, the issue conveys the depth of Ukrainian Christmas.
The composition “Carol” illustrates the multifaceted nature of the celebration: the singing of carolers, the gifts of the Magi, the rite of “driving a goat” that symbolizes the wish for a bountiful harvest, and, of course, the defenders of Ukraine, who stand on the guard of freedom even in the most difficult times.
“Christmas is a time when we remember the most precious things: our homeland, traditions and peace. The brand “New joy has become” describes the modern Ukrainian Christmas in two realities – a peaceful one, where carols sound, and a military one, where our defenders defend our freedom and customs. This edition is not just a holiday tradition, but a reminder of the strength and unity that lead to Victory this stamp will give a little warmth to everyone who holds it in their hands.” – noted Director General of Ukrposhta Ihor Smilyanskyi.
The postal block contains five stamps: “Carolers”, “Magi”, “Christmas of Christ”, “Christmas nativity” and “Ukrainian soldiers”. The total circulation of the block is 60,000 copies.
