The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Service of Ukraine plan to switch to new standards of career growth

The Ministry of Defense has developed a draft of the Decree of the President of Ukraine, which proposes a new version of the “Regulations on military service” in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service (SSTU). The document is adapted to NATO standards and introduces clear rules for the career growth of military personnel, informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.

The project is structured according to different periods (peacetime, special period and martial law), as well as types of military service defined by the Law of Ukraine “On Military Duty and Military Service”. The Cabinet of Ministers has already approved this project and submitted it to the President of Ukraine for consideration, and the Ministry of Defense continues to support it.

The main goal of the reform is to create a transparent and fair career growth system for military personnel. Promotion will be based on an objective assessment of personal achievements, professional skills and competencies of the military.

This initiative is aimed at creating a favorable environment for the development of leadership qualities and professional improvement in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service. In addition, the new system provides fair incentives for high service results, which will contribute to the overall strengthening of the army’s combat capability.
