Ukrainian engineers have developed a new ground-based drone designed to create smoke screens on the battlefield. Image of the prototype published National information portal “Tysk”.
A battery of 15 launchers of the Soviet “Tucha” system is installed on the remote-controlled tracked platform, which allows firing 81-mm smoke grenades of the 3D6 and 3D17 types.
According to the military, unmanned smoke generators are useful for both offensive and defensive operations, providing cover from enemy fire and surveillance. Thanks to remote control, they can perform tasks inconspicuously and at any point on the battlefield, regardless of the intensity of shelling.
The new unmanned smoke generator complements the arsenal of Ukrainian military robots, among which the Moroz reconnaissance and strike complex, equipped with a machine gun and optical devices, is already successfully used.
