Former leaders of Ukroboronprom were punished for embezzlement of millions

On November 18, 2024, the panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court announced a guilty verdict in the case of embezzlement of almost UAH 3.5 million by two state-owned enterprises. About this informs Specialized anti-corruption prosecutor’s office.

According to the court’s verdict, six people, including former and current managers and officials of the Ukrinmash State Enterprise, which is a structural unit of the Ukroboronprom State Enterprise, as well as officials of a foreign company, were found guilty of all crimes provided for in Part 5th century 191 and ch. 1 Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

In addition, the court confiscated part of the property of the former management of “Ukrinmash”.

The court acquitted the former general director of “Ukrinmash” Serhii Slyusarenko on charges under 2 Art. 27, ch. 5th century 191, ch. 2 Art. 27, ch. 1 Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. However, he was found guilty of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official negligence). He was sentenced to 2 years in prison, but was released from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

At the same time, the panel found the former deputy general director of “Ukrinmash” Kostyantyn Cherednichenko guilty of 3 Art. 27, ch. 2 Art. 28, ch. 1 Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and ch. 3 Art. 27, ch. 5th century 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment with a ban on holding certain positions for 3 years and confiscation of 2/3 of the property.

Another ex-director of Ukrinmash, Volodymyr Omelianchuk, was found guilty and sentenced to 7.5 years in prison with a ban on holding positions for 3 years and confiscation of 1/2 of the property.

The former director of the department of “Ukrinmash” Oleksandr Dytkivskyi was also found guilty and sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment with a ban on holding positions for 3 years and confiscation of 1/3 of the property.

The former heads of departments of “Ukrinmash” Dmytro Lobashov and Ihor Yarinovsky were sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment with a ban on holding positions for 2 years and confiscation of 1/4 of each of their property.

Mykhailo Buyankov, the head and owner of Triangle Group Incorporated, was also found guilty and sentenced to 8 years in prison with a ban on holding certain positions for 3 years and confiscation of 2/3 of all property.

In addition, the court imposed a special confiscation of 40,748 euros found in Buyankov’s possession. The court also imposed a number of obligations on Cherednichenko, Omelianchuk, Buyankov, Lobashov, Yarinovsky and Dytkivskyi, including wearing an electronic bracelet, handing in foreign passports, etc.

In the course of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that in 2014–2016, the managers and officials of the Ukrinmash DGZIF, together with representatives of a foreign company that was supposed to ensure the conclusion of foreign economic agreements and their implementation, organized the groundless conclusion of agreements on the support of foreign economic contracts, the drawing up of known false acts of completed works and subsequent illegal transfer of funds. As a result, losses in the amount of almost UAH 3.5 million were caused to the state enterprise.
