France and Poland are holding consultations on a potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron proposed the idea of creating a European peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, which could become a deterrent to a new Russian attack. Macron considers Poland as a key partner in the implementation of this project. About this informs edition of Rzeczpospolita.
It is about the possible involvement of peacekeeping forces from European countries, which, in the event of an agreement on ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, would help ensure stability and security.
According to the publication, the discussion of this initiative will be a central topic during Macron’s visit to Warsaw on December 12. It is assumed that the head of France has already raised this issue during negotiations with the newly elected US President Donald Trump and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi in Paris.
The topic was also discussed at Macron’s meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in November, and later at talks with representatives of Northern Europe, the Baltics and Poland at the end of the month.
According to military experts, the implementation of such a project will require up to five brigades (approximately 40,000 people). Poland, considering its military potential and geographical location, could take command of one of these brigades.
