Drones attacked a number of regions of Russia
On the night of May 27, drones attacked Novomoskovsk, Vuzlova in the Tula region and Borysoglibsk in the Voronezh region. Explosions were heard in these cities, as reported by the Russian mass media.
The governor of the Tula region, Dmytro Milyaev, informed on the evening of May 26 and the night before the 27th that an air alert was declared in the region due to the threat of drone attacks.
Local residents said that around 01:40 at least five explosions rang out over Novomoskovsk, located 32 km from Tula. Two more explosions were recorded over the town of Vuzlova. There were flashes in the sky, accompanied by a loud roar. As of now, there is no official information about the victims or the destruction.
There were also explosions in Borysoglibsk, Voronezh region. According to the governor of the region Oleksandr Gusev, around 01:00 a.m. a threat of a drone attack was announced on the territory of the region. Subsequently, Gusev reported that more than 20 drones were detected in the airspace over four municipalities of the region. One of the drones, he said, was allegedly shot down, and as a result of falling debris, a forest fire broke out in the east of the region, which was later extinguished.
During the night and dawn of May 27, several Russian airports temporarily suspended operations. According to Rosaviatsia, restrictions on the reception and departure of civil flights were in force at the airports of Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov and Tambov. Prior to this, restrictions were also introduced at the Kaluga airport.
In the morning, the representative of Rosavia, Artem Korenyako, reported that restrictions have already been lifted at the Saratov airport. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has not yet provided official information on the number of downed drones.
