German chancellor candidate wants “very good relations” with Russia

The leader of the German party “Alternative for Germany” (AfD) Alisa Weidel said that she wants “good relations” with Russia. About this informs Picture.

“We want very good relations with our European neighbors. We also want very good relations with major powers, and Russia is one of them. Until recently, we received cheap gas from Russia through the Nord Stream. We want to end the sanctions policy, which primarily harms our country. We have the highest energy prices in the world. We are no longer competitive,” – said Alisa Weidel.

She also mentioned the “cheap” Russian gas that was previously supplied to Germany, and spoke in favor of lifting the sanctions, claiming that they “primarily harm Germany itself.”

According to her, it was Germany that contributed to the escalation of the war, in particular through rhetoric, financial aid and arms supply:

“And what has the German government been doing for the last almost three years with Russia? We have only contributed to the escalation. This happened at the level of rhetoric, financial aid, as well as the supply of weapons against Russia. After the Second World War, German tanks are again going against Russia. This is a complete oblivion of history, if you want to know my opinion”.
