Germany begins airdropping humanitarian aid to Gaza residents

The German armed forces began an operation to airdrop humanitarian aid to the civilian population of the Gaza Strip. About this informsDaily news.
According to the German Air Force, two A400M transport planes took off from an air base near the Jordanian capital Amman and dropped 34 pallets of cargo. The total weight of the aid delivered so far amounted to 14 tons. New flights are scheduled for the following days.
The operation is being carried out against the backdrop of the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. At the same time, it has caused some criticism: some experts believe that air delivery is inefficient, as it allows transporting significantly smaller volumes of cargo compared to ground routes. There are also safety concerns that aerial pallets could pose a threat to people on the ground, causing injury or even death.
At the same time, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful announced additional government aid for the people of Gaza. During a visit to the UN facility in Jerusalem, he announced that Germany will donate another 5 million euros to the UN World Food Program (WFP). These funds will make it possible to ensure the supply of food, as well as to restore the work of bakeries and canteens that prepare and distribute bread and hot meals.
