Slovakia stops supplying weapons to Ukraine, but is ready to support in other ways: FOREIGN MINISTRY
Slovakia will no longer supply Ukraine with military weapons from its stockpiles, but the country has found other ways to support the Ukrainian army. About this informs Dennik N.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, Juraj Blanar, said that due to the lack of additional financial resources, the country can no longer supply military materials to Ukraine from its reserves. However, Slovakia offered a different format of assistance – the expansion of the repair base for Ukrainian military equipment in the city of Michalovce.
According to Blanar, this project will be a joint initiative with Germany: Berlin will finance the renovation, and Slovakia will provide the appropriate premises. The repair base, which is located on the territory of the military unit in Mikhalovtsy, has been operating since the end of 2022, and now it is planned to expand it for further support of Ukraine.
It is worth noting that after Prime Minister Robert Fico came to power, the Slovak government stopped supplying military aid to Ukraine from state reserves as early as last fall. Despite this, Slovakia will continue to provide humanitarian aid and participate in the demining of Ukrainian territories affected by Russian aggression.
