Germany will not send troops to Ukraine until the end of the war

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius suggests the possibility of German military presence in Ukraine, but only after establishing a ceasefire. That’s what he’s about stated in an interview with ntv.
“I want to state one thing clearly: until the war is over, there will not be a single German soldier on Ukrainian soil. The question arises when there will be an armistice or peace – and when it will be clear what it looks like. For example, will there be a demarcation line, a buffer zone or a peacekeeping zone in which the armed forces will ensure peace? As you can see, there are still too many open questions to make a statement.”Pistorius noted.
He added that the final decision on Germany’s participation will be made by the parliament.
“But one thing is clear: Germany, as the largest NATO country in Europe and the largest economy in Europe, cannot stand aside and remain uninvolved”– concluded the German minister.
Earlier, Olaf Scholz, answering the question about the possible participation of the Western military in the peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, said that the actions should take place in the correct sequence. First, Ukraine must define its own goals for peace, which will not be imposed from the outside.
