British intelligence agencies are investigating Russia’s involvement in the arson of Starmer’s property

British security services are investigating Russia’s possible involvement in three cases of arson of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s property. About this informs Financial Times.

Two citizens of Ukraine and one citizen of Romania were charged with conspiracy to commit arson, which threatened life. The police believe that these three acted in collusion with “other unknown persons”.

British officials are considering the version that the suspects may have been recruited by Russian agents. There are ongoing discussions about how to respond if this information is confirmed. One of the government officials emphasized that several versions of the events are being investigated, and none of them has been ruled out at the moment. London police declined to comment on Russia’s possible role.

Great Britain has consistently supported Ukraine under both Conservative and Labor governments. Even if the investigation finds a Russian trace in these incidents, it will not necessarily indicate a direct order from the Kremlin or the suspects’ knowledge of Moscow’s involvement.

We will remind, the fire in the house in the north of London happened on the night of May 12. The fire was quickly extinguished, no one was injured, although the entrance to the building was damaged. Previously, Kier Starmer lived in this building before moving to the official residence.

On May 13, police announced the arrest of a 21-year-old man suspected of setting fire to a house linked to Starmer. The next day, the law enforcement officers said that they were considering the version according to which an “enemy state” could be behind the burning of the car, apartment and house.
