Government establishes Council of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved amendments to Resolution No. 257 of 11 March 2022.
According to the innovations, a supreme governing body, the Council of the Coordination Headquarters for Prisoners of War, has been established within the structure of the Coordination Headquarters for Prisoners of War. This was reported by the Ministry of Reintegration.
The Council includes the Minister of Defence, the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.
A negotiation team and regional offices (working groups) were also established within the Coordination Centre. In addition, a Public Council is being established, whose members will be selected on a competitive basis.
These changes are aimed at increasing transparency in the process of forming exchange lists and improving the effectiveness of work on the release of Ukrainian defenders in captivity.
