On December 26, the director of the company supplying sleeping bags for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was charged with suspicion. About this reported State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
According to the investigation, in 2023 a company from Kryvyi Rih supplied one of the military units with 20,000 sleeping bags, which turned out to be defective. The total cost of this lot was 30 million hryvnias.
The conducted examination established that the bags did not meet the technical requirements and could not be used as intended. In particular, the composition of the fabric did not meet the declared characteristics, and the sleeping bags lacked mandatory elements, such as a fleece lining and a layer of special fabric that protects against air penetration.
“The military unit filed a lawsuit to the court for reimbursement of fines in the amount of 6 million hryvnias and replacement of sleeping bags with quality ones, which was satisfied in full.” – says the message.
The SBI is also investigating the possible involvement of officials of the military unit in this case.
