Great Britain to supply Ukraine with over 5,000 air defense missiles as part of deal with Thales

Ukraine and Great Britain have concluded a long-term defense agreement, according to which London will transfer to Kyiv more than 5 thousand missiles for air defense systems produced by the company Thales. About this it is said in a statement from the British government.
The agreement will contribute to the economic growth of Great Britain and the creation of new jobs, as well as help Ukraine to continue resisting Russian aggression. The signing of the agreement is planned during this year’s Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, which is taking place in Rome.
Great Britain also confirmed the provision of bilateral aid to Ukraine in the amount of up to 283 million pounds over the next year.
“As we continue to witness the resilience of the Ukrainian people, the UK is standing by their side to provide the help they need. This statement underlines our continued support for Ukraine – strengthening its air defenses against devastating drone and missile attacks, and supporting the important work of rebuilding the country and giving the people the hope they so desperately need.”, – said British Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner.
In addition, the UK will allocate up to £10.5 million to the Public Administration Reform Program and up to £1 million to support Ukraine’s Green Transition Office in the 2025-2026 financial year.
