Netanyahu dissolved the military cabinet

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dissolved the military cabinet, an Israeli official said.
The decision was expected after former centrist general Benny Gantz left the cabinet last week.
Gantz joined Netanyahu’s unity government at the start of the war in October and demanded the formation of a military cabinet. After the departure of Gantz, Netanyahu dissolved the cabinet.
The White House said the cabinet dissolution was an internal matter for the Israeli government and that the US would continue to engage with Netanyahu.
State Department representative Matthew Miller told reporters at a briefing that it is not up to the US to decide who should be in Israel’s government.
At the same time, Miller added that Washington will express public disagreement with the policy, which, in his opinion, “unproductive not only for reducing the burdens of the Palestinian people, but also for the security of Israel.”
A representative of the State Department stated this while answering a question about whether the US is worried about far-right voices in the decision-making process in Israel.
