The British deep-tech startup Research Integrity Chain (RICH), which specializes in the protection of intellectual property using blockchain technologies, received an investment from the Ukrainian IT group Tabula Rasa and its co-founder Mykola Palienka. This decision can become a breakthrough in the field of innovation and copyright protection.
As reported in the company’s release, RICH offers an innovative platform for the protection and monetization of intellectual property, focused on the scientific field and business. Using blockchain and artificial intelligence, it allows you to verify the authenticity of scientific research, articles and other objects of intellectual property.
The basic principle of operation is that each piece of data receives a unique token with a timestamp, information about the authors and other metadata. This prevents forgery, ensures data security and confirms its originality.
According to Mykola Palienko, the issue of data protection in the digital age is becoming critically important, and RICH has the potential to become the “gold standard” in the field of intellectual rights protection.
The market for the protection of intellectual property is valued at trillions of dollars, and in the United States alone more than one trillion dollars is spent annually for these purposes.
Ukrainian developers are considering the broad application possibilities of RICH in Ukraine, in particular in the field of defense technologies. The startup team is already working on the launch of a pilot project in cooperation with the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, the London Business School, as well as the universities of Berkeley and Maryland in the USA.
RICH co-founder Dmytro Shestakov emphasizes that the partnership with Mykola Palienko and Tabula Rasa is strategically important. Their experience in creating digital platforms, in particular the electronic document management service Vchasno.ua, can significantly contribute to the scaling of the startup.
