In Poland, 235 thousand citizens are summoned to take the VLK: both men and women will receive summonses

About 235,000 Polish citizens will receive summonses requiring them to appear before military medical commissions. The distribution of such summons will start from January next year, and the qualification process itself will last from February 2 to April 30, 2026, excluding public holidays. Documents will be sent with notice of delivery. Among the persons who have to undergo this procedure will also be women and people over 50 years old, informsElectoral.
The goal is to establish physical and mental fitness for military service. The relevant project of the resolution has already been presented by the Ministry of National Defense of Poland. The call will be given to men, as well as a certain category of women aged 19 and older. After arriving at the district medical commission, they will undergo a medical examination and a conversation with a representative of the military structures.
After that, the personal data will be entered into the military register. Each of them will be assigned the rank of private, but only those who voluntarily decide to join the army will receive a military ID. Those who do not show a desire to serve will be enrolled in the passive reserve. Based on the medical results, everyone will be assigned a military category.
Women who work in certain professions or study in relevant specialties defined in the Homeland Defense Act will also receive subpoenas. Next year, the qualification will also apply to 18-year-old volunteers, as well as to persons who do not have a defined military category before reaching the age of 60.
The qualification examination involves measurement of blood pressure, height, weight, vision test, blood and urine tests. From 2023, consultations with a psychologist and a neurologist, as well as an ENT examination, have also become mandatory. Doctors also assess the general condition of the skin.
