In the first half of 2025, gasoline car sales in Ukraine decreased by 14%

In the first half of 2025, the Ukrainian fleet was replenished with 12,200 new cars with gasoline engines, which is 14% less than in the same period of 2024. The share of such cars in total sales also decreased: from 43% last year to 37% this year. About this informs Ukravtoprom
The Hyundai Tucson crossover became the most popular model among new gasoline cars. In addition to it, Mazda CX-5, Skoda Octavia, Renault Duster and Suzuki SX4 were in demand. Demand for imported used gasoline cars also decreased — by 3% compared to the first half of 2024 — and amounted to 53,100 units. They covered 47% of primary sales of used cars, which is one percentage point less than last year.
Among the used gasoline models imported from abroad, Volkswagen Golf, Audi Q5, Volkswagen Tiguan, Nissan Rogue and Skoda Octavia were most often registered.
During the same period of 2025, Ukrainians purchased 31,600 diesel cars, which is 13% less than in the first half of last year. Diesel cars continue to lose ground both in the segment of new cars and in the segment of used cars.
In the new car market, the share of diesel models decreased to 19% of total sales, while last year it was 24%. In the segment of used imported cars, a drop in the share of diesel cars was also recorded — from 25% to 22%. Among the new diesel cars, the Renault Duster, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Volkswagen Touareg, Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq models were in the greatest demand.
