Pensions will be recalculated in Ukraine from March 1. The budget foresees a 10% increase in payments, although the increase may be higher, depending on price dynamics. About this it is said in the draft budget of the PFU, which is posted on the website of the PFU.
The March indexation will affect pensions calculated according to the established formula. For example, if the rate of increase is 8%, then the pension, which was previously equal to UAH 1,230, will increase to UAH 1,328.4. However, the actual amount of the payment will remain at the level of UAH 2,361.
The exact percentage of indexation will become known closer to March, after the official statistics on changes in the level of wages and inflation have been calculated. The calculation formula takes into account half of the annual inflation rate and half of the average salary growth over the past three years.
“New” pensions are not subject to increase – indexation is aimed at adjusting payments for those who retired earlier. It does not apply to pensioners who have received their benefits in the last few years.
We will remind that in 2024 the government set temporary limits: the maximum increase due to indexation cannot exceed 1.5 thousand. UAH, regardless of the category of recipients. The minimum amount of the surcharge is set at UAH 100. It is not yet known what changes will take place in 2025.
