The Bureau of Economic Security actually paralyzed the activities of dozens of enterprises operating in the Odesa Seaport. At the same time, the body violates a number of procedural requirements, does not clarify the purpose of its actions and causes significant damage to the state budget, as well as endangers the existence of many companies. This situation became a topic investigation “Khapugy” program on TV channel 1+1.
Journalists drew attention to the multi-week blocking of the work of Odesa enterprises, due to which business risks to completely stop its activities.
“This is a large area, about 600 people work here, and today they cannot go to work and carry out their professional activities. I will not push for pity and say that they cannot feed their families, but for 20 days we have blocked enterprises that do not carry out economic activities. Accordingly, the question of when we will stop paying salaries and taxes is a matter of one or two weeks.” – said Oleksandr Pavlenko, director of “ATTOLLO GRANUM” LLC, which works in the port.
Lawyer Valery Snitkin emphasized the paradoxical nature of BEB’s actions:
“They simply don’t inspect the premises they are interested in. It’s a paradox, but we insist on carrying out searches and finally ending the investigative action. Because, as we see, they are not carried out here, actions are carried out to sabotage and block the activities of the enterprise.” .
BEB detectives act on the basis of the rulings of the investigating judge of the Kyiv District Court of Odesa, which were issued in December. These resolutions provide only for searches, but in fact led to the seizure of the property of enterprises, which is not provided for in them. At the same time, the searches were supposed to be conducted once, but the BEB representatives remain in the port without explaining the reasons.
Journalists of the TV channel tried to get comments from BEB representatives, but they refused to communicate. At the same time, back in December, the companies sent complaints to the Office of the President, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the State Security Bureau and other bodies, but did not receive a single response.
Businessmen speculate that the actions of the BEB may be part of a conspiracy with the investment fund Argentem Creek Partners, which may indicate an attempt to raid and information attack the agricultural holding GNT Group, which operates in the port. However, the company Sunolta, which owns LLC “ATTOLLO GRANUM”, in respect of which the resolution was issued, has no connection with the GNT Group.
