International partners will provide educational institutions in Kharkiv Region with generators and laptops

During the meeting, which took place between the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleg Synegubov and the executive coordinator of the South-East European Cooperation Initiative (SECI) Michael Fazekas, it was discussed important issues related to the humanitarian situation in the Kharkiv region. During the discussion, which covered a wide range of topics, the importance of providing the region with the necessary resources for the restoration and maintenance of vital infrastructure facilities, in particular, in the field of education and medicine, was emphasized.
This year, in the Kharkiv region, they plan to resume the offline educational process in the shelters located in the Krasnograd and Loziv districts. This will be possible thanks to the restoration work in the already existing bomb shelters, as well as the construction of six new shelters. In order for educational institutions to be able to continue their work even during long power outages, large power generators are needed. They should become a reliable source of energy, which will ensure a continuous educational process.
“According to the precarious situation in the Kharkiv region, we can conduct the offline educational process only in shelters. Our priority is to provide educational institutions with high-power generators, there is also a need for school buses for logistical needs. In those schools where it is not possible to resume offline education , we must provide all students with laptops,” – said Oleg Sinegubov.
During the meeting, considerable attention was also paid to the support of medical institutions of the Kharkiv region. Medical facilities, like educational institutions, need high-power generators to ensure uninterrupted operation and provide the necessary assistance to the civilian population, especially in the context of possible crisis situations.
Michael Fazekas emphasized the importance of carefully gathering information on the amount of equipment needed, the power of generators and the need for laptops for educational and medical institutions.
“In order to cover certain educational and medical institutions, we are collecting information about the amount of necessary equipment, the power of generators and the need for laptops. We will work together to solve these issues.”, he noted.
Thus, international partners have expressed their readiness to support the Kharkiv region by providing the necessary equipment to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of important infrastructure facilities in conditions when it is especially needed. This aid will be a significant contribution to the restoration and maintenance of normal life in the region affected by the consequences of the war.
