Iran used cluster ballistic missiles against Israel

Iran launched at least one ballistic missile with a cluster warhead in an attack on central Israel. About this reported in the Rear Command of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), reports The Times of Israel.

According to the military, such a missile has a warhead that disintegrates during a fall at an altitude of about seven kilometers, scattering about 20 smaller munitions in a radius of about 8 km. One of them hit a house in the city of Azor and caused damage that the IDF compared to the explosion of a small rocket.

The military warns that such missiles are capable of covering a larger area than other types of Iranian warheads, although the explosive power of each cluster submunition is smaller. The military urges citizens not to approach missile debris, which may remain dangerous, and to report them to the authorities.

It will be recalled that on the morning of June 19, Iran launched approximately 30 ballistic missiles on the territory of Israel. The strikes were recorded in the center and south of the country. In particular, the “Soroka” hospital in Be’er Sheva, which is the third largest in the country, was affected. More than 60 people received injuries of varying severity.
