The NATO Parliamentary Assembly called for Ukraine’s accession to the Alliance as soon as possible

During the plenary session, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly adopted a resolution which urges member states of the Alliance to speed up the process of Ukraine’s accession to NATO.

“The Assembly calls on the governments and parliaments of the member states of the Alliance to increase political and practical efforts to help Ukraine receive an invitation and become the 33rd member of NATO as soon as possible.” – said in the resolution.

The document emphasizes the need to increase the amount of military, financial and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, as well as to ensure the timely supply of ammunition and modern types of weapons.

“We call for strengthening the sanctions policy against the Russian Federation and the DPRK in order to increase the price for their cooperation in aggression against Ukraine, as well as to provide Ukraine with all means, including medium-range missiles, for self-defense and deterring further aggression”, the document says.

The resolution also emphasizes the importance of political and economic pressure on China to prevent it from supporting Russian military efforts. The resolution reflects the position of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly on strengthening support for Ukraine and countering threats related to cooperation with Russia and other authoritarian states.
