Iranian military calls on ayatollah to lift ban on nuclear weapons

Iran’s top military leaders are pushing for the lifting of a fatwa banning the development of nuclear weapons, saying the country could lose its last chance to build its own nuclear arsenal. About this informs The Telegraph.

The high-ranking Iranian military decided to appeal to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei after the re-election of Donald Trump for a second presidential term:

“We’ve never been more vulnerable, and this may be our last chance to get nuclear weapons before it’s too late.”

At the same time, Khamenei banned both negotiations with the United States and the development of nuclear weapons, although the military considers it the “only way of survival” of the regime. According to experts, Iran has been “just a few clicks away from creating nuclear weapons” for some time now.

We will remind that in 2005, during the International Conference on Nuclear Disarmament, the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a fatwa prohibiting the production, stockpiling and use of nuclear weapons.
