Israeli warplanes hit Hezbollah tunnel between Syria and Lebanon

Israeli warplanes attacked the facilities of the Islamist group “Hezbollah” and the underground tunnel of the militants, which connects the territory of Syria with Lebanon and is used by terrorists to smuggle weapons. About this informs press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The Israeli military command said that the airstrike was carried out on an underground logistics route of Hezbollah based on intelligence. Through this tunnel, the militants smuggled weapons between Syria and Lebanon, particularly in the Bekaa area.

The Israeli side noted that this underground facility had already been attacked by the Israeli military in the past:

“The IDF intends to prevent the recovery and use of this tunnel.”

In addition to the attack on the tunnel, the Israel Defense Forces carried out airstrikes on several Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. In particular, ammunition depots and rocket launchers were destroyed, which, according to the IDF, posed an “immediate threat.”

“The targets hit were in violation of agreements between Israel and Lebanon,” – the IDF explained.

The Israeli side emphasized that the military “continues to act to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel in accordance with the ceasefire agreements.”

“The IDF remains committed to the agreements and will act to prevent any attempt to rearm or rebuild the forces of the terrorist organization Hezbollah. – added in the Israel Defense Forces.
