Japan plans to expand sanctions against Russia and North Korea because of their cooperation

Japan is considering the introduction of additional sanctions against Russia and North Korea in order to strengthen their mutual relations and develop cooperation.
In accordance with message Japanese public broadcaster, citing sources, Tokyo expresses concern that cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang may affect security in Europe and Asia and is considered a violation of international law.
Japan has already imposed a series of sanctions, which include restrictions on exports and imports, as well as freezing the assets of a number of individuals and organizations. As the public broadcaster notes, Tokyo intends to cooperate with other countries, especially with the G7 members, to coordinate its actions.
It will be recalled that earlier Russia and North Korea approved an agreement that provides for a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. In accordance with this document, the parties undertake to maintain and develop strategic partnership relations on an ongoing basis, adhering to the principles of mutual respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to the provisions of the treaty, in the event of an armed attack on one of the parties, the other party will provide immediate military and other assistance, which is consistent with Article 51 of the UN Charter. Also, both countries undertake not to conclude agreements with third countries that could threaten the sovereignty, security, territorial integrity or the right to freely choose the political, social, economic and cultural system of the other party.
