Kharkiv regional police chief announces his resignation

Volodymyr Tymoshko has announced his resignation from the post of head of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region due to the following reasons. This is stated in his post on Facebook.

He noted that on 24 February 2022, he arrived in his hometown with a single order from the President of Ukraine and the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police – ‘Hold Kharkiv’ – and together with the defence forces and the police garrison, this order was carried out. Tymoshko added that he was not ashamed of a single minute of service, of every day of the war and of every decision he made.

He expressed pride in the opportunity to lead the police force, which he said is the best in the world, and noted that the level of respect the people of Slobozhanshchyna have for the police confirms this. Tymoshko also expressed confidence that the police will continue to fulfil their duties, remaining a capable and combat-ready unit.

Among Tymoshko’s achievements, he mentioned ‘an earned piece of reinforced concrete’, respect for the police, respect for friends and colleagues with whom he went through a difficult period of war, and the memory of those who are no longer with him. Volodymyr Tymoshko expressed his gratitude to every police officer, colleagues, comrades-in-arms, as well as the leadership of the state, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police for their trust and support in the implementation of this important order.

Concluding his address, he stressed that his plans include continuing his work and winning the war.
