The Council adopted the draft law on the mobilization of prisoners as a whole
The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading and as a whole the draft law, which will allow prisoners to be released from serving their sentences in case of military service. In the second reading, the norms were taken into account, according to which persons convicted of corruption and serious crimes will not be able to take advantage of parole. The relevant bill was supported by 279 people’s deputies.

However, persons convicted of corruption crimes, premeditated murder, crimes against national security and sexual violence will not be able to use this opportunity.
How it will work:
- The court will be able to release parolees who have expressed a desire and meet the requirements for military service under a contract.
- After release, such persons will be sent to the relevant military units.
- If they fail to fulfill their obligations regarding military service, they are returned to places of deprivation of liberty to serve the remainder of their sentence.
