The head of the Mykolayiv regional military administration, Vitaliy Kim, explained his decision to take deputy Iryna Kormyshkina, who is suspected of illegal enrichment for more than 20 million hryvnias, as bail. According to him, he has known her for 20 years and is sure that she will not evade the investigation. Kim stated this on the air of the national telethon “Only News”.
He emphasized that he acts according to the presumption of innocence. According to the investigation, in 2021-2022, Kormyshkina acquired assets worth more than 20 million hryvnias by purchasing a house in Odesa, while her official income and savings during this period amounted to only 2.7 million hryvnias. The deputy was charged with illegal enrichment, for which she faces up to 10 years in prison.
“I have known her for 20 years, when she worked in the insurance business. She does not hide from the investigation. The investigation will find out who is really guilty, I have nothing to comment here. I just know that this (surety — ed.) will allow her to continue working and that she will not evade the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, and she is now fully cooperating“, said Kim.
He also added that the court decided to release Kormyshkina on bail due to her good behavior during the investigation.
Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court adopted a preventive measure for the deputy in the form of a personal guarantee. Davyd Arakhamiya, head of the faction in the Verkhovna Rada, and Vitaly Kim acted as guarantors. The term of office is two months.
