Law enforcement officers visited Ukrgasbank with searches

On November 29, law enforcement officers searched the members of the Ukrgasbank credit board. About this reported channel “Operden”.
Investigative actions take place within the framework of criminal proceedings, in which the members of the credit council are suspected of illegal decisions regarding the granting of loans. According to preliminary information, funds issued in the form of loans were taken abroad and were not returned, which caused losses of more than a billion hryvnias. “Ukrgasbank” is 93% owned by the state, therefore the main financial burden from these actions fell on the state budget.
Searches took place at the acting chairman of the board Rodion Morozov, his brother Oleksandr Morozov, as well as at the deputy chairman of the board Natalia Vasylets and Tamara Savoshchenko. Law enforcement officers are trying to establish a complete chain of persons involved in making decisions that led to financial losses.
At the same time, experts emphasize that the case with “Ukrgasbank” emphasizes the need to strengthen control over the activities of state-owned banks, in particular in terms of issuing loans. Society expects the transparency of the investigation and the prosecution of the guilty.
