Children of war

Lesia Pavliuk entered the TOP-50 teachers of the world: experience of working with children of war

Despite all the problems Ukraine is facing due to full-scale war, teachers remain at the forefront of the fight for the country’s future. Working conditions in the educational sphere have become significantly more complicated: schools and lyceums in many regions work in a mixed or remote format, thousands of children are forced to get an education abroad, and teachers have to adapt teaching methods to new realities.

However, despite constant air alarms, lack of light or access to a stable Internet, teachers make incredible efforts to ensure quality education for every child. This is especially true for children affected by the war – displaced persons, orphans or those who have lost their homes or loved ones. For them, school becomes not only a place to acquire knowledge, but also a space of emotional support and stability. An example of this approach is Lesya Pavlyuk, a teacher from Ivano-Frankivsk, who was included in the TOP-50 best teachers in the world according to the Global Teacher Prize 2025.
