Mass graves of victims of the Assad regime discovered in Syria

In the suburbs of Damascus, human rights activists discovered a mass burial. They estimate that the bodies of at least 100,000 people killed by the regime of former President Bashar al-Assad are there. About this informs Reuters.

The head of the American human rights organization “Syrian Task Force on Emergency Situations” Muaz Mustafa noted that the grave is located in the Al-Qutaif area, about 40 km from Damascus. The obtained data is based on the testimony of workers who fled from Syria and had a direct relationship with these places.

“One hundred thousand is the most conservative estimate of the number of bodies buried at this site. It’s a very, very conservative estimate.”, – said the human rights defender.

According to him, the number of such mass burials in the country significantly exceeds the five known places. Among the dead are not only Syrians, but also foreigners, in particular citizens of the USA, Great Britain and other countries.

The intelligence branch of the Syrian Air Force is responsible for moving the bodies. Bodies were collected in military hospitals, where they arrived after torture and death, and then they were transported to places of mass burials.
