NATO experts will conduct an audit of Ukrainian military education in 2025

In October 2025, NATO specialists will conduct an institutional audit of the military education system in Ukraine, which will be an important stage for further application for certification of professional military education courses in accordance with Alliance standards.

About this informs press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“Thanks to the certification of courses and standardization of educational programs, Ukraine will be able not only to improve the level of training of its military, but also to ensure the operational compatibility of the Ukrainian army with the forces of the Alliance. This will open up opportunities for military personnel of NATO member states to train in Ukraine.”, – explained Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk.

The development of the military education system based on NATO standards was recently discussed during a meeting of the Defense and Security Sector Committee held at the NATO headquarters in Brussels. Director of the Department of Military Education and Science of the Ministry of Defense, Volodymyr Mirnenko, presented Ukraine’s achievements in this field, as well as outlined further plans within the framework of the NATO DEEP program.

The program contributes to the development and unification of more than 200 educational programs for sergeants and officers. These programs cover key aspects such as military planning, decision making and leadership.

Since the beginning of the implementation of the DEEP project in Ukraine, more than a thousand trainings, internships and other educational events have been organized. In 2024, the number of Ukrainian servicemen who participated in these events increased by 450%. In total, more than 15,000 people have already participated in the program.
