NBU updates the list of benchmark government bonds to cover banks’ required reserves

National Bank of Ukraine updates the list of benchmark bonds of the domestic state loan, at the expense of which banks are able to cover part of the volume of required reserves.

Starting from August 11, the bond with the identification number (ISIN) UA4000227193 will be excluded from the list of benchmark OVDP due to its planned full repayment on August 6. Instead, the bond with ISIN UA4000236418, the first placement of which was carried out by the Ministry of Finance on July 15, will be included in the benchmark OVDP list.

Such a decision is aimed at supporting the activity of banks during the auctions of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine for placement of OVDP bonds, which is important for ensuring financing of the state budget in an exclusively emission-free way. Banks can include a specified list of benchmark OVDPs to cover up to 60% of the required reserves. This list is formed by the National Bank taking into account the proposals of the Ministry of Finance.

After August 11, the list will contain 17 issues of securities: UA4000227201, UA4000227490, UA4000228043, UA4000228381, UA4000228811, UA4000229116, UA4000232177, UA4000232607, UA4000232615, UA4000232896, UA4000232912, UA4000233613, UA4000234140, UA4000234553, UA4000234934, UA4000235642 and the new UA4000236418.
