Netanyahu began to testify in court

On December 10, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu began testifying in the Tel Aviv District Court. This became a precedent in the history of Israel, because the current head of government testifies for the first time in court as a defendant, informs local publication “Vesta”.
Israeli ministers, deputies and his son Avner came to the court to support Netanyahu. Before the start of the session, several dozen protesters gathered near the court building: some supported the prime minister, others demanded from him more active actions in negotiations for the release of approximately 100 hostages held by Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, Netanyahu received a postponement of his participation in the court hearings due to the war in the region. However, last week the court ruled that he must appear and begin giving evidence.
The prime minister is accused in three cases known as “1000”, “2000” and “4000”. The investigation has been going on for eight years, and the indictments were issued five years ago. As clarifies Reuters, Netanyahu is charged with bribery, fraud and breach of trust.
