No more need for mattresses: The Ministry of Defence is reforming inventory for the army

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine made significant changes to Order No. 232 of April 2016, which regulates the issue of inventory property to servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. About this reported Bohdana Yarova, member of the Public Anti-Corruption Council at the Ministry of Education and Culture and adviser to the Minister of Defense.
According to the new rules, only the bulletproof vest and the helmet remain in the list of inventory property that the military is obliged to surrender. For Airborne and Special Operations Forces soldiers, this list also includes headphones that will now be their responsibility.
“No, you don’t have to look for your caremat in the swamps anymore”, – Yarova noted, emphasizing that this simplifies logistics and the military’s responsibility for equipment.
An important change is that when transferred to another unit, the military will no longer be required to return sleeping bags, as it was before. Now they can keep their equipment that they have used for a long time and not get new ones that might already be in use.
Upon discharge from service, only the body armor and helmet will need to be returned. Yarova urged the military not to refuse to receive the necessary equipment, since now the responsibility for it has been significantly reduced.
We will remind that in February, Law No. 3411-IX came into force, which simplified the procedure for writing off property damaged during hostilities. Previously, it was necessary to issue up to 40 documents for this, but now one act of write-off is enough. This greatly facilitated the process of managing military property in the field.
