Norway will produce surface drones on the territory of Ukraine

On June 23, the Ministry of Defense of Norway reported, that the country will start the development and production of unmanned surface vehicles on the territory of Ukraine.
It is noted that Norway has already allocated about NOK 6.7 billion (approximately EUR 580 million) to support the “maritime coalition” that it leads together with Great Britain.
“Part of these funds will be directed to the development and production of unmanned marine vessels using KDA technologies, the production of which will be based in Ukraine.” – said the Minister of Defense of Norway Ture O. Sandvik.
At the same time, the Norwegian company Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace (KDA) concluded an agreement with a Ukrainian partner on the joint development and production of such drones in Ukraine, using Norwegian technologies and experience.
“Surface drones play an important role in helping Ukraine defend its territory and neutralize the Russian fleet in the Black Sea,” – emphasized the Ministry of Defense of Norway.
It will be recalled that at the beginning of June, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov held a meeting in Brussels with his Norwegian colleague Tore Onshuus Sandvik. After that, he announced that in 2025, Oslo plans to allocate $7 billion to help Ukraine.
