Russia considers the plans of the US Republican presidential candidate for peace talks with Ukraine to be unrealistic. Donald Trump will not be able to end the war in one day, said Russian ambassador to the UN Vasyl Nebenzia.
Earlier, Trump said: “They’re dying, Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I’m going to do it — I’m going to do it in 24 hours.”
He said that this will happen after his meeting with the presidents of Ukraine and Russia, Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Volodymyr Putin. Donald Trump first announced this in May 2023. He constantly repeats this statement during the election campaign.
“The Ukrainian crisis cannot be solved in one day”, Nebenzya said this week.
Answering journalists’ questions, the Russian ambassador to the UN once again repeated the Russian thesis that the war could allegedly end as early as April 2022 in Istanbul, when Russia and Ukraine were “very close” to signing an agreement.
