NVIDIA launches production of AI supercomputers

NVIDIA has announced the launch of supercomputers with artificial intelligence, saying that this is happening “for the first time in history”. About this it is said in the company’s official press release.

Production of the new generation of NVIDIA Blackwell chips has already started at the company’s partner TSMC’s facilities in Phoenix, Arizona. At the same time, the construction of production facilities for the assembly of AI-based supercomputers began in Texas.

These devices will be manufactured in Houston in cooperation with Foxconn, as well as in Dallas in cooperation with Wistron. The mass launch of production is planned for the next 12-15 months. The company brought in experts from Amkor and SPIL to package and test components in Arizona. The total area of facilities involved exceeds 1 million square feet. NVIDIA noted that production cooperation covers the full cycle — from the creation of chips to the assembly of a full-fledged supercomputer.

According to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, the launch of such facilities in the US will help strengthen the country’s technological independence, strengthen supply chains and ensure sustainable development. The company plans to invest up to $500 billion in expanding its AI infrastructure over the next four years in collaboration with key contractors and partners.

NVIDIA supercomputers should become the basis for a new generation of data centers — so-called “AI factories” that will specialize exclusively in artificial intelligence processing. Their construction in the USA, according to the press release, will create hundreds of thousands of jobs and provide a significant economic effect in the long term.
