Norwegian princess Martha-Louise married an American spiritual guru

Norwegian Princess Martha-Louise married her longtime partner and American spiritual mentor Durek Verret. This is reported Reuters.

The ceremony took place in the picturesque town of Geiranger in western Norway. Members of the royal families of Norway and Sweden, as well as friends, social media influencers and famous Norwegian personalities were invited to the festive event.

The celebration was held outdoors and was available only to accredited journalists who received sponsorship accreditation. Unlike the princess’s first televised wedding in 2002, this event was not televised.

The wedding was the finale of a three-day series of celebrations in honor of Martha-Louise, 52, fourth in line to the throne, and Verrett, 49, a Californian spiritual leader.

The couple first went public with their relationship in 2019.

Marta-Louise, daughter of King Harald and Queen Sonia, will stop performing official royal duties in 2022. This allowed her to focus more on her own business, and she decided not to use the title of princess for commercial purposes.

Her first marriage to Norwegian writer Ari Behn, with whom she has three children, ended in divorce in 2017.

After the wedding ceremony, Verret will become part of Norway’s extended royal family, but not part of the main branch of the royal house, which includes the monarch, the next two people in line to the throne and their spouses. Therefore, he will not acquire the title of prince.
