Oschadbank announced a competition to select the chairman of the board

The Supervisory Board of the State Savings Bank, the second largest bank of Ukraine in terms of assets, announced about the start of competitive selection for the position of the chairman of the board in connection with the approaching end of the contract of the current head of the financial institution.

“The future chairman of the board will lead the implementation of the 2024-2028 Strategy and will be responsible for the long-term institutional stability of Oschadbank, growth of its value, development of client-centric business models, digital transformation, strengthening of market positions and support of the country’s economic recovery.” – the message says.

According to the document, the strategy for 2024-2028 provides for digital modernization of the bank, improvement of its work efficiency, implementation of modern business approaches, best practices of corporate management, systemic risk management and ESG principles.

To ensure the transparency and professionalism of the tender procedure, the supervisory board engaged the international recruiting company Korn Ferry, which will accompany the search, evaluation and selection of candidates both in Ukraine and abroad.

“Preference will be given to leaders with deep managerial banking experience, strategic thinking, high ethical standards and the ability to implement large-scale transformations in the context of complex changes.” – stated in the announcement.

As a reminder, on June 17, 2020, the Supervisory Board of Oschadbank approved Serhiy Naumov, who at that time headed Piraeus Bank (Kyiv), as the chairman of the board based on the results of the competition. He officially assumed his duties on October 3, 2020, replacing Andrii Pyshny, who currently holds the position of Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine.

According to the National Bank, as of April 2025, Oschadbank ranked second among the country’s 60 banks in terms of assets — UAH 449.7 billion, or 12.0% of the market.
