Over 400 schools are guarded by officers of the Education Security Service

402 Ukrainian schools have already joined the joint project with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, aimed at introducing additional security measures in educational institutions. Now, representatives of the police – officers of the Educational Security Service – are on duty in schools.
In addition to the function of supervision, police officers also perform an educational function. In particular, officers conduct mine safety classes with children.
Currently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is working on the introduction of security passports for Ukrainian educational institutions.
“This is all a set of measures that will allow us to protect our children from emergency situations. In addition, this year the ministry will start opening lyceums, where children of the fallen defenders of Ukraine will be educated on a full basis,” said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko during a meeting of heads of law enforcement and other state bodies at the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Among the issues discussed during the meeting dedicated to Children’s Day were: the state of combating child crime in Ukraine, protection of the rights and interests of children who are involved in criminal proceedings, as well as the formation of a child-friendly justice system.
