In ten months of 2024, Ukrainian policemen detained 179 people involved in arson of military vehicles, infrastructure facilities and state enterprises. About this reported deputy head of the National Police Andriy Nebytov during a meeting with the heads of operational divisions of the eastern regions.
“These were the arsonists of military vehicles, railway infrastructure, and state-owned enterprises. The task of the criminal police is to quickly identify and bring perpetrators to justice in order to prevent further crimes. In ten months, the police arrested 179 people who committed arson on the order of the Russian special services.”, he noted.
During 2024, the police seized 4,247 firearms, discovered 137 caches of weapons, and documented 903 cases of illegal weapons sales. Nebytov emphasized that not a single unit of Ukrainian weapons has reached the countries of the European Union.
Law enforcement officers are also actively fighting drug crime. During the reporting period, indictments against 134 organized criminal groups involved in the drug trade were liquidated and brought to court. The activities of 565 members of such groups were revealed, almost 3,000 drug dealers were exposed, and 800 drug laboratories and drug dens were liquidated.
