Over a million copies of “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chernobyl” sold in the first two days

Two days after the release of the video game “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl” from the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World, its sales exceeded one million copies worldwide. About this reported on the official page of the game on the X social network.

“It’s no surprise that the Zone has become a bit crowded. A million copies have been sold and even more stalkers have joined the game through Game Pass. This is just the beginning of our exciting adventure.”, says the message.

The game, which was released on November 20, became the fourth part of the cult series “S.T.A.L.K.E.R.” and the first to be released on consoles. Its release was postponed several times due to technical difficulties and the war in Ukraine. However, “Heart of Chernobyl” has already been recognized as one of the most anticipated games of 2024.

The developers note that the main scenario will take about 40 hours to complete, and the storyline includes four endings. The game continues the tradition of the series, combining a post-apocalyptic shooter with a deep atmosphere and a unique style.

After the release, the popularity of the game even caused a temporary decrease in Internet speed in some regions due to massive downloads, journalists report.

It is interesting that the game was banned in Russia, and downloading or distributing it is punishable by criminal liability (since it is a product of a Ukrainian company).
