Parliament supported the demobilization of soldiers whose half-relatives died at the front

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a draft law that allows military servicemen to be released from military service if their non-consanguineous relatives died or went missing during hostilities. About this reported people’s deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.
According to him, draft law No. 11531, aimed at ensuring equal rights and opportunities for military personnel, received the support of 308 deputies. It provides for the exemption from military service of those whose half-brothers or sisters are killed or missing in action.
“The Council granted the right to release to those whose non-consanguineous relatives died or went missing while participating in hostilities. For – 308”, – noted Goncharenko, adding that he had been pushing for the adoption of this initiative for a long time.
Non-consanguineous relatives are brothers or sisters who have only one parent in common – mother or father.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence supported this proposal. The committee’s explanation states that the right to be discharged from military service will also be granted to those soldiers whose non-consanguineous brothers or sisters were posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine for the display of civic courage, heroism and patriotism, in particular during the Revolution of Dignity.
