People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko denied the achievements of Ukrnafta, voiced in the president’s speech
People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko, referring to the financial documents of Ukrnafta, stated, that President Zelenskyi’s statements about the significant successes of the nationalized company under the leadership of the new state management are more reminiscent of “large-scale scattering of funds” by the new management.
According to the deputy, the announced results are a manipulation based on the redistribution of resources between Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta, both of which are managed by Serhiy Koretskyi.
According to Honcharenko, a significant share of Ukrnafta’s profit was obtained thanks to the sale of natural gas extracted in 2007–2013. The company received this gas from Ukrtransgaz in March 2022 after years of litigation with Ukrtransgaz and Naftogaz of Ukraine. The cost of the resource was about UAH 600 million, and its sale at market prices brought more than UAH 10 billion. The deputy asks whether it can be called effective management when it comes to the use of obsolete assets.
Honcharenko also drew attention to the fact that, despite the growth of Ukrnafta’s revenues in 2023 by more than 100% (up to UAH 95.1 billion), Ukrtatnafta’s revenues fell significantly. If in 2021 the net income of Ukrtatnafta amounted to UAH 51 billion, then in 2023 it decreased significantly. According to the people’s deputy, this redistribution of resources creates the illusion of Ukrnafta’s success.
“Although in reality the profit could have been much higher if, for example, Koretsky had dared to realize other assets of Ukrnafta (wells, special permits, infrastructure facilities), but in such a case can this be considered a “management” success. Let me remind you that the state alienated the shares of PJSC “Ukrnafta” has more than 12,000 shareholders to provide the Ministry of Defense with oil products in the conditions of war with the Russian Federation. How to sell assets acquired by Ukrnafta in the “pre-Koretsky” period meet this goal?”, – asks the parliamentarian.
