Members of the Pharmacy Professional Association of Ukraine expressed their support for the initiative to reduce the prices of medicinal products. About this reported on the website of the union.
“Supporting the initiatives of the President of Ukraine and the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated February 4, 2025 “On the further implementation of programs to support Ukrainians on the basis of guaranteeing the economic stability of the state and strengthening measures to clean up the financial system of Ukraine”, put into effect by the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 69/2025 dated February 5, 2025, members of the SC “APAU” understand the urgency of measures between all participants in the pharmaceutical industry (manufacturer, distributor, pharmacy) in order to reduce the prices of medicines for the population”, the message says.
The association sent the Ministry of Health a Declaration on cooperation to reduce the cost of medicines. In the document, participants propose to reduce prices by applying a proportional discount on their markup in accordance with the discount from the manufacturer, leaving it the right to determine its size. If all parties agree to the terms, the Declaration will enter into force on March 1.
We will remind that on February 5, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi criticized the inflated prices of medicines and warned of possible personnel changes if the situation does not improve.
