Protests against the law continue in Ukraine for the third day in a row №12414, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada and signed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The law, which, according to the participants of the actions, actually eliminates the independence of the anti-corruption bodies NABU and SAP, caused a wave of protests in many cities of Ukraine, in particular in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Ternopil, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv and others.

In Kyiv, the protest again took place near the Franko Theater. The action started at 20:00. Several thousand people gathered. Those present chanted “Hands off NABU” and unfurled the Ukrainian flag. Around 10:00 p.m., people’s deputy Maryana Bezugla joined the protesters, who voted in the Verkhovna Rada for the draft law, some clauses of which deprive the NABU and SAP of independence. In response, the protesters chanted “Bezuglu away”.

Oleg Simoroz, a participant in the Russian-Ukrainian war and public activist, said that the action was directed against the law that the deputy voted for, and called on her to draft a mandate. According to the correspondents of Sospilny, in response, the People’s Deputy made her own call for the resignation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.

In Kharkiv, a protest action took place on Freedom Square, where more than 300 people gathered. In Vinnytsia, representatives of the active youth of the city and region joined the protest, expressing their position on limiting the independence of anti-corruption bodies.

In Ternopil, a protest action took place for the third time near the building of the regional council and OVA in the center of the city. About 200 people gathered there today. In Zaporizhzhia, on July 24, for the second day in a row, an action was held in support of NABU and SAP. The organizers moved it to the city center, where there are two shelters capable of accommodating a large number of people.

In Lviv, protesters gathered near the monument to Shevchenko. The participants of the action chanted “Hands off NABU”, “NABU and SAP are not for your paws” and “Let’s change or die.” On the same day, July 24, the Lviv City Council adopted an appeal to Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the Verkhovna Rada regarding Law No. 12414. In the document, the deputies call for the return of norms that ensure the autonomy of anti-corruption bodies.
