Since the beginning of the year, the “Defense Procurement Agency” of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has spent 30 billion hryvnias on the purchase of drones. This is stated in messages on the official website of the department.
In total, more than 350,000 drones were contracted, among which the most popular are FPV and “maviks”, as well as high-cost reconnaissance and attack drones of the aircraft type, capable of operating deep behind enemy lines.
95% of purchased drones are produced in Ukraine. Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov noted that this testifies to significant achievements in the development of national defense technologies and confirms the high quality of domestic products.
“Ukrainian manufacturers create highly competitive UAVs, because they constantly cooperate with the military and take into account their needs and changes on the battlefield. The Defense Procurement Agency has already contracted more than 1.6 million UAV ammunition from domestic manufacturers”, – added the director of the “Defense Procurement Agency” Marina Bezrukova.
Use of drones in war
The Defense Forces of Ukraine conducted a number of successful operations using drones both in the temporarily occupied territories and in the territory of Russia. Thanks to these operations, in particular, the waters of the Black Sea were freed from the ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, and several oil refineries in Russia were destroyed and damaged. Drones are actively used to destroy enemy forces along the front line.
